The mission of Lions Clubs International ("LCI") is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through service to others.  LCI is actively involved in supporting diabetes education initiatives worldwide, including diabetes camps.  LCI and DECA share a vision that people living with diabetes, especially children and their families, should be supported and educated so that their lives are healthy and productive.

To enhance and expand programs that meet the needs of those living with diabetes, LCI and DECA have formed a partnership to promote diabetes education programs and diabetes camping worldwide.  By educating and supporting children and families who live with diabetes, the organizations can meet their common goals of promoting volunteerism, increasing coorperative diabetes education, reducing the devastating complications of diabetes and fostering fellowship among diabetes-interested organizations around the world.

If you are a diabetes camp and would like to find a Lions Club in your area, go to the Lions International website at www.lionsclubs.org and search for a Club in your area.  Members may download the Lions Informational packet in the "Downloads" section of this website.
