Five teens with type-1 diabetes from the Diabetic Youth Foundation’s Bearskin Meadow Camp are "pumped" about their upcoming summit to the top of Mount Whitney (14,496 feet), the highest peak in the lower 48 states.

With eight other campers and staff affected by the condition, by the end of the trip these girls will have trekked nine days and over 70 miles across the Western Sierra all the while successfully managing their diabetes and having an adventure of a lifetime.
