DECA Mission Statement: The Diabetes Education and Camping Association promotes communication, provides education, shares resources and serves as a worldwide voice to advance diabetes camping programs that meet the diverse needs of all individuals and families.

Dear Diabetes Education and Camping Association Membership,

Your Diabetes Education and Camping Association (DECA) has experienced significant growth in the delivery of services and availability of resources to its membership over the past eight years. Our dear friend and Executive Director, Lorne Abramson, has provided our organization outstanding leadership and service as he guided our transformation into DECA becoming the worldwide leader of diabetes education and camping programs.

Lorne is entering a new chapter in his life, one in which he would like to focus his talents on providing program assistance to diabetes camps. He informed your Board of Directors that he will resign as Executive Director, and serve DECA Camps through the Camp Assistance Team - a program that we plan to provide to our member camps as soon as funding is secured. On behalf of the DECA Board of Directors and its Membership, I sincerely thank Lorne for his selfless service and deeply appreciate his outstanding leadership!

Your DECA will be accepting Resume’s for the Position of Executive Director. Please distribute the Position Notice to qualified candidates who will demonstrate a high degree of compassion for children with diabetes, and possess the leadership skills that our organization needs to move to an even higher level of service to the Diabetes Education and Camping Industry.
